Most distillery workers were men. But during the Great War of 1914 to 1918, women were hired for office and even distilling work. Until the men returned, these women typed, kept books and performed other clerical functions in offices located on the ground floor of this building, across from the Stone Distillery.

La plupart des ouvriers étaient des hommes. Mais pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, on embaucha des femmes pour le travail de bureau et même pour la distillation. Ces femmes, jusqu’à ce que les hommes reviennent une fois la guerre terminée, tapaient à la machine, tenaient les comptes et effectuaient d’autres tâches administratives dans des bureaux du rez-de-chaussée de ce bâtiment, situé en face du bâtiment Stone Distillery de l’autre côté de l’allée Distillery.
